Very clean, pretty room, everything function and working in the bathroom, nice, clean towels and sheets, nice attention to details: the hearts on the night stand, sensor touch lamps…. Good open bar cold breakfast. Nice and welcoming host.

Best places to stay in Carmarthenshire, Old School B and B Review received 24th June 2024
Fabulous place, clean and comfortable, very well organised and friendly owners. There was a nice touch when on mentioning my partner was gluten intolerant (ceoliac) a pair of chocolate wafers (gluten free obviously) were awaiting our arrival in the room. Thank you Jayne!
Tips for other travellers
Watch the you tube video of how the old school was restored it is a testament to will power and a love for where you live. Overcoming obstacles that would make lesser people give up. The surrounding area has lots to see, nice walks and history abounds for those who love to root around old romantic ruins. We can recommend the Copper pot in Cardigan if you are out for the day and want a hearty evening meal before you return to Pencader.

Jewel of a b&b

Nice walks in area. Nice pub with good food nearby in the next village. The owners were very friendly and have an interesting story to tell around the renovation of their old village school.

Warm comfortable spotless room with a large TV. Excellent tasty cooked breakfast. As soon as you walk in you just get the feeling that everything has been done to a really high standard.
The owners were telling us that they are planning to add a restaurant shortly, this should be a good asset to this business.
Would we stay here again? Absolutely
Tips for other travellers
Situated in a rural area on the outskirts of the village. If you are looking to escape to a small village in the country it’s great.
If you are going to the training school next door to learn how to make buildings as environmentally friendly as possible, this is the perfect place to stay.

If you are coming to the South-West, you should come ere!!
We stayed for one night this weekend and what a lovely B&B it is. From the outset Jayne & Ian couldn’t have been more welcoming. The building itself is famous for being featured on “The Restoration Man” and the two rooms that we used and the communal area were all furnished to an excellent standard. We couldn’t have been made more comfortable and the surrounding area is a jot to behold. Jayne is a wonderful cook who not only provided us with a very welcoming meal on our late arrival, but excelled herself with an enormous, excellently cooked full “Welsh” breakfast. The unique Brecon tea was just what we needed as were the relaxing, peaceful rooms. Thanks again for Ian for giving us an impromptu tour of the building and explaining all the eco-friendly aspects of your lovely B&B. This is so much more than a B&B. We will definitely be back.
There was nothing faulty or wrong with this amazing place, definitely would recommend.

A wonderful combination of nostalgia and green living!
What was there not to like! In addition to all the positives above, it’s green credentials were outstanding. It is incredible (almost!) what has been achieved so far and what is possible regarding energy efficiency. On top of this Jayne & Ian were very, very welcoming and hospitable. It is a real gem of a place.
No complaints about the property.
Loved the character of the place and the attention to details , so nothing I disliked!

Clean, cosy and comfortable!
The overall stay was fantastic! The place was immaculate and felt very cosy. The staff were lovely and Jayne is a brilliant cook, she made us a beef curry in the evening and a full English the morning after, both were beautiful. The showers were pretty good too!
